The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 ( Lawrence, 2014)

The Conventions:

- The trailer includes, intense, high in action snap shots of the film in order to engage the audience, whilst also revealing the genre.

- The trailer also includes the faces of Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson providing a sense of star appeal, as well as allowing the audience to meet the main characters.

- The soundtrack also helps to accentuate the genre as well as creating a build up full of suspense.

-Key moments of the film are revealed through, special effects for the explosions.

- The title of the film is also revealed. The title appears bright, with an image of a bird in a ring, with fire around it and the title in bold print. This allows the audience to remember the title more vividly.

Target Audience:

The target audience is, teenagers. This is made clear through the well known cast, as well as the intense scenes of action.

My Personal Response:

I felt the trailer worked well. I thought this because, the scenes shown were able to captivate me and interest me in the film, without giving too much away. I also recognised a lot of the cast which would have made me also want to see it. I also enjoyed how intense the action scenes were.
